I hear you on the young players but if we are at risk of losing players due to waivers because there is not enough room, wouldn't it be prudent to get something for those players instead of losing them?
If you can buy low on an asset that's good management. Especially if you can parlay that asset into something bigger at a later date which I believe would be the case here.

I don't like giving away anything, stock pilling quality assets is the way to go for sure.
There are so many variables such as being cap compliant, now and in near future, new contracts for Mony, Johnny, plus Gio and Hudler/Wideman situation, not to mention the few I would like to see gone Raymond, Bollig, Hiller, perhaps Stajan.
We still don't know the details and timing of that expansion.
If Treliving can navigate the waters and predict correctly we will be ok, if not well that's another story.
Our rebuild got accelerated with the Hamilton and Frolik additions, and in a good way to boot. I don't know what stage we are in right now, are we still collecting assets, or are we going for quality now. Looks like a little of both.
