There is a pending expansion draft and you will need to expose player to the new teams. I can't see us holding onto granlund and shore as part of our protected list.
Think of this as well. Sharp has won three cups in the past six years. Do you think he could teach the kids what it takes to win?
Worst case scenario, you move him in the year of his expiring contract for a first rounder or prospects. Sharp would likely fetch you a larger return than shore or granlund would. Buys us some time as well while our prospects season more in Stockton.
Would we be a better team with sharp in our lineup? Probably. And that's what treliving's focus is. Making the team better to take the next step.
