You can't compare a small community focused primarily on a single sports team to a huge site that has more subforums than CP has users. Reddit calls itself "The Front Page Of The Internet" and with it you get everything you can find online, good or bad. So yeah, you're going to find people being #######s there, but they're easy to ignore.
I enjoy the positive discussions in the smaller subreddits, and as the funny pics thread shows, most of the jokes and meams on the Internet start, or grow, there.
It's tough to police such a large, user-curated site like Reddit, and they haven't always done the best job, but I think it's a positive place overall.
