I guess this is a fallacy akin to people who think Twitter is for posting what you eat for lunch everyday, which it was when I joined over 8 years ago. Now Twitter literally runs the FoI forum - every thread is started from a breaking tweet.

Oh don't get me wrong. There's much more to reddit than funny cat pictures. There are some really interesting and informative subreddits that I visit all the time. My comment was merely an observation that the source for much of the materials in the Funny Pic thread, much like yours about the source of the FoI forum being twitter, is taken from reddit or was at least posted there first.
