He has the terrible management of the Flames in the mid to late 90's to thank for it all.

Without the Flames being so poor, he would've never gotten the chance to be on an NHL roster. I believe he once said as much, but then later, of course, said the Flames gave up on him. Truth is, no one wanted him when the Flames took a chance on him for Saint John, nevermind a crack at an NHL roster. He was that close from being done if it wasn't for the Flames taking a chance on a way too small fringe forward.

With him now done and Giguire last year, gone are the last two remnants that fans foolishly pointed to as Flames that got away. Truth is, both got a sniff because of the Flames, and through continued hard work, and a lot of luck, they moved their careers forward after leaving here.

Back to St. Louis, first for his claim the Flames gave up on him, and then, to take his ball and go home (and demand that he gets traded to only one team) over Yzermans perceived Olympic snub after so many years in Tampa, delicious that Yzerman and his team cash in with the returm, and then beat the Rags in St. Louis' last game.
