If he is reinstated I can't wait to see the mental gymnastics the LA Kings have to perform in order to justify not terminating Voynov's contract after they did so with Mike Richards for violating his conduct clause. We can get into a huge debate about morality and conduct but the way I see it is; if you beat your wife, you are a worse person than someone who does drugs. Granted, we don't know the full scope of the Richards situation. I may change my tune if we find out he was transporting pounds of Oxycontin to push at local playgrounds. The reality is that Voynov still has value as a hockey player and Richards does not. At least not equal to the value of his contract. If LA wants to use some player conduct/morality clause to get out of a contract with Richards but doesn't do the same with Voynov it's pretty clear they don't care about conduct at all.
