Yes, the only players who must be sent down to the CHL are those who played in the CHL the year before they were drafted.
Kylington could also spend a year in the CHL then go to the AHL as a 19 year-old. That is what Pat Sieloff did. He was drafted out of the USHL, then went to the OHL for a year. After that, he went to Abbotsford even though he was only 19.
It's always great to hear Loob's thoughts. He gives good & honest insight. It's also interesting to hear his positivity towards Kylington considering he struggled playing for Loob's team.
