I guess call me an optimist that this isn't just about circumventing the cap and is a convenient situation. That Lombardi and the Kings have more class than that, and that this is a serious situation that is outside the bounds of the regular 'millionaire with bad habits off ice' of a unwanted hockey player.
But I get what you're saying. They were complying with League policy on Slava's 'cause he is a good player and important to the franchise, where as Richards was on the way out.
Timing is pretty convenient. Just hoping that the league/team will be vindicated once we find out what exactly Richards did.
