Really starting to pick up steam. Some solid dialogue, veiled backstories and innuendos. Rachel McAdams' character is very natural, and I think Farrell has been solid so far.
Complexity is starting to be woven quite well, and apart from the awkward monologue at the beginning I'm starting to buy Vaughan's character more and more.
They have turned the Noir factor up a notch, and since they don't really have the poetic pessimist character they have spread out Cohle's darkness across everyone. Kitch's character and story is the only one I'm not really interested in, but they have 6 episodes to rectify that. Potential is there.
I'm pretty sure Farrell's character isn't dead, but it would be a hell of a twist if he exited this early.
