I watch a lot of different sports and know of a lot of deluded fanbases. I'm convinced oilers fans are by far the most unrealistic and out of touch fans ever. Beats the Cowboys, Knicks and Arsenal fc by a wide margin. I don't know what I feel more ; disappointment that they got Connor or pity for the kid who is going into a high pressure environment with a few locker room cancers and team culture killers aka 1 way forwards like hall and yak. I think if there's any team in the NHL that can effectively lower the kids ceiling and potential its Edmonton. He will be expected to basically be the messiah for a team that needs the whole Christian trinity, Holy Ghost and Heavenly Father included to even have a chance at turning things around. One of the many things I love about what we've done in as an organization is take pressure off youngsters easing them into the lineup with bottom 6 minutes and tons of favorable offensive zone starts with our top pairing of d men behind them. Also brad always says he believes good teams are built from the crease out. Oilers have basically done the exact opposite.

Well you now have added another top prospect a few bottom pairing d a slow skating defenseman with a stagnant devolpment curve and a back up goalie while giving up your best defenseman to mtl where he looked great and your goalie from last year finished as a vezna finalist when put on teams that play defense, have NHL experience and hustle and letting go of marincin..Your team got worse and the rest of the league got better..especially the west San Jose and Dallas and Colorado will be better. But since Edmonton has this poor kid now they are set ?
