I hear a lot of questions regarding Kylington's Hockey IQ, but I don't think that's at all the issue, he probably just needs some direction and time spent with some defensive coaches. A guy I would look to is Gio there are many interviews he's said for him the biggest thing was confidence and experience that has allowed him to become such a good defenseman.

I can't find the one interview Gio talked directly about development of Dmen but I recall him saying some guys just need the exposure and experience while they develop and some guys the defensive knowledge comes later. If that's the case I don't worry too much about OK's chances, I think realistically we won't see him til he's 21-22 but there is a good chance all he needs is to sit down and go over video and things to focus on in his own zone.

I know myself I would never have thought about spacing and speed matching, but with OK he could be scary good in his zone just because of his fantastic skating ability, he just needs to know what to have awareness on. I don't play hockey sadly so maybe I'm just blowing smoke, maybe he tries to do too much himself because he doesn't trust his teammates in Sweden, I know jumping around leagues probably doesn't help for confidence or getting to know your teammates.
