Since Hamilton's an RFA come July 1st, makes no sense in just dumping money at the guy unless he gets an offer sheeted from another dooshbag GM. In that case, the Flames can match the offer or give him up for future picks. If the Flames do match, they probably would have to consider trading Gio at some point before he becomes a free agent. You overpay a player and next thing you know, there are 3 other guys on the team who thinks they should get paid more. I like to see Dougie Hamilton prove that he can play in the Western Conference before upping what he deserves. Hate to see him turn out to be another JBo.
