I'd like to see Wideman go to #5 on the depth chart, but get top PP billing (like you say here). Hamilton's acquisition allows the Flames to manage Wideman's TOI a bit more. Because Hamilton/Gio/Brodie can eat a lot of minutes, we don't need to rely on Wideman to do so anymore, and can instead use his offensive skills more strategically.

You can always move Russell up to play with Brodie at times to give Russell more quality minutes. Having three R shooting defencemen means Wideman naturally fits on the second pairing over Engelland. Also Russell paired with Engelland seems to make them fit together as each has their own strengths and weaknesses.
