I got the overall impression that Wotherspoon was read the riot act at the end of season reviews and was told that if he was going to make it it would be in 2015-16.

I don't know why you would think that, 150 AHL games is pretty good seasoning (this is what Brodie had) and none of the guys you mentioned are even close to that threshold.
Kulak, Sieloff, and Culkin could spend another two full seasons in Stockton and it still wouldn't be a bad thing. Wotherspoon needs to push for a spot by the end of the season.
Realistically those 4 guys will replace Wideman, Russell and Engelland when their contracts are up.
