After the draft, Murray was pretty adamant that he wasn't trading Gibson.

Gibson can still play 2 more seasons in the AHL without needing waivers. If Murray is true to his word, they may want Gibson to get more action next year and plan to have him play primarily in San Diego. One nice thing for them with the new AHL alignment is that they can bring him up every so often to play a game or two in Anaheim and it's only a 2 hour(ish) drive from San Diego rather than a cross-country flight from Virginia.
