Honestly I doubt there's any team right now that would do the Oilers any favours as 29 GM's probably were pretty ticked off when they won the lottery. I imagine the Oilers probably have to be better on any offer they make to teams as why send your asset to them if another team is offering as good a package.

I don't know if it throws a damper on the "celly" from the "bare chested and cut off jeans" crowd up north tonight, but it just goes to show that even with new management in place, they can't get deals done due to prior reputation.
It's exactly (due to Lowe's ego and thinking he's some sort of new-age maverick when it comes to NHL executive) which I've argued over the years is the sole reason the Oilers can't/haven't gotten and UFA's of significance he suckered Pronger in/since Pronger left (and anyone that has signed (Cole, Perron) have left within 2 years), and don't get many players to waive the NTC's to go there.
