What better combo could you ask for. A young, skill based, talented, hungry forward core, with a veteran, ultra reliable, puck moving blue-line. There will be no cinderella story next year. This trade totally changes the perception of what the Flames are now, and there will be much higher expectations.

I don't believe that at all. The goaltending situation is not ready to contend for a Cup nor is the forward situation as this was a one line team for a lot of the season and Bennett won't change that overnight. I think this puts a limit what they can realistically give Giordano especially if he's looking for a long term deal as this team is going to be close to a cap team sooner than expected because of the deal Hamilton is going to command.
