Trying to remember trends from a full 82 schedule is somewhat difficult, but how many of those exciting comebacks and storybook endings were a result of poor goaltending? Hiller had a tendency to give up a bad goal at a bad time. Obviously team play is a huge factor, but in many cases the goaltending didn't necessarily help. Where would the Flames have been in the standings with a bit better goaltending?

The first 10-15 games last year Hiller was a beast and Ramo was good, if I remember correctly and that gave the team the confidence they desperately needed. Remember that Chicago game I think we won 2-1, we had no business being in. I think we were outshot 50-20 or something.
Then after that, goaltending was average or slightly below average. Overall it hurt us a bit more than it helped us IMO.
