They have a year of Hiller than a gaping hole, and I don't see extending Hiller as wise. Ortio may be the guy, but better to have a back up plan and share the net then just give him the job and have him fail.
Last year the Flames goaltending was average at best, and not the reason they made the playoffs. If they take that save percentage up 3 points it makes a huge difference to a young team that seems to have the offensive options to do some damage.
Just hope they have the right guy.

I agree with everything in this post but why can't they go with a year of Hiller/Ortio and see how Ortio does?
