I'm growing warmer to this idea.
If Ramo is indeed headed for what he believes are greener pastures, and the Flames are not sold on a Hiller/Ortio combo for next season, then I think picking up Talbot (who is entering his prime and has put up consistent numbers) gives them a pretty decent stop-gap until one of Gillies/McDonald/Ortio emerges as a legitimate #1.
I would be fine with a Talbot/Ortio combo (less so with a Talbot/Hiller combo), and if it costs 2 X 2nd round picks and you are able to recuperate at least a pick for Hiller as a consolation prize for one of the failed bidders then you might come away OK.
Would Hiller be worth a 2nd and a 3rd, or a 2nd and a B grade prospect?
