They would never, I imagine they'll trade him for futures/D prospects, not a 30+ year old player.
However he is an absolutely fantastic player and would kill to have him on the Flames. Would compliment Bennett/Johnny/Monahan so well, 4 core forwards with great all around game. However...at 7-8M? Maybe if the cap was 80 million, but it's too rich for us. I'm fine with what we have going now then go after ROR and potentially be in big cap problems down the road.
