Yeah, I was worried when the named all the new actors. Afraid of too many characters and the problems you mentioned. Plus part of the charm of the first was the ever evolving relationship between the two main characters. Something you can't get in a multi main character set up. But they could still pull it together. Just going to be a slow start.
I did enjoy it. Did feel a bit forced though.
