Why would Giordano ever sign 3 year deal?
He can just go to FA next summer and get gobs of money and term elsewhere if he doesn't get something worthwhile in Calgary.
I don't understand why so many are freaking about this thing.
Giordano just had a Norris trophy caliber season, he is the captain of one of the hardest working and cohesive dressing rooms in the league. He also has earned a home run contract for his work off the ice with the team and elsewhere.
He was ALWAYS going to get big dough this contract, and here we are.
8 million per over 5 with a full NMC (IMO) is the minimum he settles for here....and rightfully so as that is the cost of business in the NHL now.
