Do you see this thing getting done at any point during the next four years that coincide with the NDP governments term? I doubt we see a rebound to $100/bbl oil in that time. Even Murray Edwards and the ownership group must be poorer today than they were a few years ago. If they wouldn't pony up private money then, do you think they'll do so now?
I see the clock being reset on any potential new building for the Flames. Five years for serious talks, a few more for ground breaking, and 10 years until its open.

Well, it's been about ten years in talks now. Eh, maybe seven. Still. It all depends on the owners now I think, and I'm willing to give them the time to do it right.
As far as the province goes, they're in over a barrel anyway, cause Edmonton got theirs. No way do they back out of a project with Calgary now. Especially, since from everything we've heard, it'll be more government/taxpayer friendly than Katz bending everyone over to build a arena for his legacy of suck.
