Even if he only plays 180 games over the course of the deal he will 'be worth it'. As long as he puts up .5 ppg and keeps up the rest of his game this is absolutely market rate for a 2nd/3rd line tweener, even one who is a little injury prone.
At this point there is no reason to expect Backlund to become more durable. I'm sure Treliving expects him to miss 10-15 games per season. He signed Backlund for the player he is, warts and all.
