It's just something that Treliving (i think) said not that long ago; that he was interested in a "Backes" type of player.

I think Jordan Staal is very close to Backes and still 26 y/o so potentially in the Flames wheelhouse for age.

Edit: Signed a 10yr contract in 2014 worth 6m per year......yikes
