I am a pretty normal guy and I know a lot of other guys like me. The idea that women need to be protected from the vast majority of men is ridiculous. We aren't all a bunch of over-sexed assaulting and raping machines. I have no idea what they're being protected from? How prevalent can it possibly be that men are just randomly assaulting women in the gym? It has to be an extremely small minority or maybe it happened at some point to someone, somewhere. But the idea that women are somehow not safe around men in general is just insulting to the overwhelming majority of men who are harmless.
I couldn't possibly care less if women have their own gyms by the way. Do whatever you want. But when you're trying to justify their existence leave out the garbage about how women have to be protected from men because none of us can possibly control ourselves.

If a man really has a strong urge and desire to assault or harass a woman, a woman's only gym is likely a pretty good place to target. A perpetrator has easy access to his victim demographic just by hanging out and waiting in the dark parking lot outside the club.
