The reason I ask is that Rocky View county tried to get bicycles off the springbank road a few years ago. They were using arguments as suggested suggested here (unsafe, too slow, etc). The road in question is only two lanes, has no shoulders and a lot of speeding cars.

Ultimately, the municipality had to back down as the cyclists pushed back pointing out that Traffic safety act list bicycles as a moving vehicle under the Traffic safety act
