As for "these countries" what countries are you talking about? Maybe you don't know much about the middle east or Lebanon in general but it happens to be a free Democratic country. When you say freedom of religion i know what your getting at though. You dont believe that Islam is a legitimate religion and it should be christianity or bust right? I have read this thread and I know your just skirting around the fact that you do in fact believe Islam in its entirty is wrong and that Israel should "keep going". Try looking at things from both sides before jumping to rash generalizations. |
I was aware that Lebanon had a strong Christian minority. I've also read that they were forcefully keeping Hezbolah rocket launchers out of their areas. The fact that Lebanon has multiple religious representation and have to a degree been able to live together is promising.
I do question your characterization of Lebanon as a democracy. If that is true then none of the Lebanese people are innocent because they have started an unprovoked war with Israel. The fact of the matter is that Hezbolah is in control of a good portion of the country. It is not Lebanon but, rather Hezbolah central. Hezbolah goal is the destruction of Israel. Israel's only practical solution is the destruction of all Hezbolah capabilities.
If Hezbolah choses to hide behind their women and children then their women and children should die with them. As long as we allow them to escape by using this tactic suffering will continue on both sides. When they learn that hiding behind their citizens won't help them they will move away from their own population centers. Where Israel failed in Lebanon was in their restraint. You don't shorten a fight by pulling your punches.
