Good roster player and a good pick. Maybe in the 26-28 years old age range, giving the Flames a good productive piece for a few more seasons than they would maybe get out of Hudler should he command upper echelon money and term next year.
It really sours me to talk about trading Hudler though. I still believe he's an equally important part of the leadership and culture building core on the Flames along side Gio.
So if he were to be traded it better be a deal that on paper looks heavily slanted in the Flames favor.
Just Spit-balling what I consider a good trade:
Hudler for Rattie and Berglund and a future 2nd round pick. Size, a pick, and a natural RW near NHL readiness.

Big pass on that. A small skilled forward a guy that never is going to reach potential and a lottery ticket with small odds is not worth it at all.
