I'd say it lives up to the original in most ways. Some of the performances were a little flat/hollow, but overall it's enjoyable for what it is. I suspect kids (whatever age is appropriate for such films) will enjoy it as much as adults/parents did the original.
But one thing bugged me about it.
Anways as far as dumb popcorn flicks are concerned, this one's worth seeing, especially if you're a fan of the originals.

Well at least the T-rex knew its place in that ecosystem. Indominus was basically a psychopath of the JP world, so yeah better off going with the T-rex. By that point in the movie the park was never gonna open again, so might as well get the T-rex to down Indominus to give the rest of the dinos on the island a fighting chance.
