I just don't get the decision making behind teams selecting managers.
What other profession would your resume read like:
I once was coach of a highly talented national team but failed to qualify for the Euros. I have been manager of 4 clubs in the last 5 years, resigning from one and being sacked from the other three.
Nonetheless I feel I would be a strong candidate to manage your club.
And not only would you get the job but a three year contract and a seat on the board?
Seriously, are clubs scared of giving some up and coming manager a chance, instead relying on old proven failing duds?
Same with footballers. Why take someone like Cleverly when you know he brings zero creativity and little much else to the club when you could at least gamble on a youngster or two who couldn't be much worse. Just seems to be a case of recycling averageness at the expense of risking fresh blood.
