You spelled "kill it with fire" wrong.
Not a chance would I be keeping the bed after that. A friend of mine had them and ended up replacing half his furniture.
As far as natural remedies go, isn't the big part of why there's such a recent spread of them is the chemicals that were used were banned, and more natural/organic/weaker chemical methods had to be used? Read up on it quite a bit before I went to New York, and that seemed to be the general consensus. I'd be leery of trying to tackle it myself with drug store remedies personally.
