Datsyk was 23 when he came to the NHL after training in Russia... 0 games in the AHL and played 70 games as a rookie 23 year old.

When Tartar was 22 he started his season with the Wings and had 39 pts in 79 games in the his rookie year after 3 dominate year in the AHL.

Nyquist was drafted out of U of Maine. When he was Jankowski's age he started his Jr. Year at U of Maine and was a dominate player 52 pts in 31 games. The next season he started with Grand rapids and after 58 pts in 56 games but was a red wing by the end of the year and played in 4 out of the 5 redwing play off games.

Mark Jankowski
Center -- shoots L
Born Sep 13 1994

He is 21 as before hockey starts this fall.

To catch up to the slowest developing player you listed as slow... he would have to dominate the NCCA this year... be the best Flame in the AHL next year and force his way on the Flames roster by the end of next season.

then Jankowski would have something in common with your list.

Do you really see this happening? All 3 players you listed showed a lot more than Jankowski by the time they were 20.

It would be a big jump in his development trend if he catches up to these guys (that you list as apparent slow developers) in the next 2 years.
