For the reclining problem, the airplane manufacturers should make the seats work like the "wall saver" recliners you can buy. As you recline, the seat shifts forward so the back of the seat doesn't move back much at all. That way, anyone would be free to recline as much as they want, and the only person's leg room affected would be the person who is reclining.
That's how the lie flat first class pods work, so they're obviously aware of the technology.
