Him leaving has been the best thing to happen to any of the teams hes coached. If anything I wonder why anyone ever thought he was a good coach.

He used the Sedins etc. In a role that ended up backfiring on him, but part of that blame has to go to the players themselves. Toews, Getzlaf, Bergeron, Kopitar, etc all thrive in the leadership role he wanted his stars in Vancouver to take on so that they could not only make the playoffs but do damage there as a collective 20 man unit.
Lest we forget, Tortorella had the 2012 Rangers in the ECF too.
