Considering the variability of goalie career trajectories Ortio is definitely expendable even with some of his bright showings. Sure he might turn into a good starter but there is also a risk consistency issues become a problem and he is nothing more than a career backup. If Ortio could be packaged to upgrade the goaltending I would want the Flames to take that chance. This is also why I put Wotherspoon on the list. He has the potential to be a top 4 defence but may never reach that and should be considered as a trade candidate in a package to upgrade the D.
