Okay fine, but 2 things to consider:
1) he wouldn't return much right now, so what is better: a crappy draft pick, or wait and see if he can take another step up in his progression? and
2) remember that he had an injured wrist for the latter part of the season and the playoffs. Trying to assess his ceiling from a small, injured sample size seems a tad impatient to me.
The Flames have already invested a fair bit into him, why not follow it through instead of starting over with another draft pick?
