Actually, I rarely drink and my limit is only 2 so it wasn't that. I sometimes hit the submit post button before re-reading it and yes, that was a mess.
That said, if there are a large quantity of good players available at 15 it might make sense to trade down. A trade of 15 + 53 for 21 + 31 would likely work for both the Sabres and Flames in the scenario where a guy like Barzal or Meier wasn't still on the table at 15 when the Flames go up to pick.
After watching all the players involved, there is a huge group from 13 through about 25 that are very comparable and it would be easier than normal to justify putting them in almost any order. A guy like Brandon Carlo could easily go 13th if the Kings want a big D-man that needs time to develop, but he could also fall to 25 if teams prioritize other things. Because it's such a level playing field, it could make sense to upgrade one of the 2nd's to try and get two quality players.
There are quite a few quality players like Jacob Larsson, Gabriel Carlsson, Olivier Kylington, Daniel Sprong, Joel Eriksson-Ek, and Denis Guryanov available that might slide to 31 that probably wouldn't fall to 45, and certainly not 53.
It all depends on what happens through the first 12-14 picks of the draft. Some teams do something stupid early on (Like the Rangers taking McIlrath instead of Fowler in 2010), so it might be possible that one of the better players could fall to 15. It has happened before, and if that's the case I wouldn't trade down at all. However, if things go more like they should then the next class of players are very close.
