Question If you were in Treliving's shoes would you use or threaten to use an offer sheet?

Let the yearly debate begin.

The offer sheet compensation package for the upcoming season was released by Friedman:

Notes about offer sheets:

1. The picks in the compensation package must be the team's original picks. They cannot be picks acquired from other teams (unless a team is reacquiring a pick that was originally theirs).

2. The picks are for the 2016 draft or later. Free agency begins after the 2015 draft.

3. Compensation for offer sheets are determined by taking the total money and dividing it by the number of years or 5, whichever is less. For example a $7 million x 7 year deal is actually a $49/5 = $9.8 million AAV for compensation purposes and means 4 first round picks.

4. RFA players that elect for salary arbitration and RFA players that do not have 3 or more years of professional experience are ineligible to sign offer sheets.

Some of the more noteworthy RFAs whose respective teams might have potential cap issues matching offer sheets.

Dougie Hamilton (Boston)
Vladimir Tarasenko (St. Louis)
Tyler Toffoli (LA)
Brandon Saad (Chicago)
