All I hear about on the the other threads are the need for a scoring right-handed shot RW. Believe it or not... Iggy is still one of the best in the league under those parameters. I think he would be a great fit even next season. Could see Bennett get the hudler treatment that worked so well for developing Johnny and monahan in their first years.
Almost like a graduation of young players with the vets they play with. Hudler helps bring a calm, hockey-IQ to them in their first years... Iggy shows them how to be fitness freaks and unleash beast mode. Monahan watches iggy beat the crap out of Kesler for slashing at one of the kids... Next thing you know, Monahan is crushing guys in the corner and dropping the gloves with Toews in a playoff series.
And I have yet to see how iggy is too slow... Been hearing it for years but here is is again leading his team in goals and points. And that's on the Avalanche who might be the fastest team in the NHL. The flames also have tons of speed so having a one or two vets that are average speed isn't going to hurt the team. Especially when iggy can put up 25+ goals. I salivate at the thought of the one-timers he would get from johnny passes.
