Been on here lots lately, trying to edumacate myself and strategize a bit.
Just thought of this while scanning the UFA list and can't find anything.

And speaking of the UFA process, can someone explain it more, as far as how the bidding process works? Highest bid that entire week, within 48 hours or something else?
Thanks
No real way to see the previous contracts but I don't know if they would be helpful.

Here's how the UFA process works.
- First we go through the re-rates and RFA re-signing
- After that teams can re-sign their UFAs. They must have the cap space to do so.
- After that we post a series of UFA batches. Basically we take the best UFAs and they go first, then the next set, etc. There is a cross section of goalies, forwards and dmen in each batch
- Teams are given a deadline to submit offers. Offers must include term (up to 3 years), per year $$ figure, and AHL %.
- Teams must have cap space for all of their offers
- Offers are kept confidential until the batch closes
- The player is then awarded based on the following
1. Highest per year $ amount
2. If tied - longest term
3. If tied still - highest AHL%
4. If tied still - team lowest in the standings

I don't think we've ever got to the 4th one - but we've had ties on the first 2 for sure.

So we go through each batch like that. After we get through the main batches we have 2 final rounds. The first is an open batch, for all remaining players, for which teams still must have cap space for their offers. The second is another open batch, for all remaining players where cap space is NOT required.

That's it.

Any questions?
