Why would someone else trade a good asset for Hiller when they could just sign Ramo for dollars only?
Everyone seems to be saying sign Ramo, trade Hiller but this isn't EA sports.
Thing is, both of them are real hot-and-cold guys and it was awesome having both of them to spell each other so the Flames basically could ride hot streaks from each and sit them down when they cooled off.
If a team decides Ramo is starter material and pays him accordingly the Flames would be smart to walk away. Ramo finished the playoffs so it's easy to forget, but Hiller played very well in the canucks series. He'll be playing for another contract next year so why not keep a motivated Hiller and see what you have in Ortio, who looked very NHL-ready in his short time this year.
