in 2005-2006 there was 26 players who had 80 points or more, in 2014-2015 there was five (5). Pretty impressive if McDavid walks in and becomes a top 5 scorer. Even Crosby didn't do that and he sat 6th his rookie season.
I'd put McDavid around 55-65 points next season and Bennett at 45-55 personally but I'm no god of math.

I think this season was generally a down season for scoring in the NHL; don't be surprised to see a rebound next year. There were 9 players who posted a 0.98 points per game or better clip this season. In the season prior there were 16.
Crosby was #6 in league scoring in his rookie year. I could definitely see McDavid make his way into the top 10 in league scoring next year.
