I don't think that's remotely the same. There's no communication back and forth. In order to get to the tickets you're describing you have to go through literally hundreds of tickets that are in the same section and are priced lower. If you wanted a car would you go find the highest price car and give them an offer lower than any other car out there? No. You'd likely start at the bottom and try and buy that. If someone else buys it you go to the next one.
In this case it looks like you were just trying to find the highest priced PL tickets to complain about them. You were purposely looking for them, so it's hard for to say they are being annoying.
