He isn't the fastest, but he sure is effortless. And that is a great quality to have if you want to be a massive minute muncher like Niedermayer.
As for the people on this site giving him flack, they just don't understand the position of defense IMO. The Ducks gameplan is simple: get everyone all over Brodie all the time.
When that's the case, of course he is going to get beat sometimes and cough up the puck sometimes.
The way to judge a defenseman in that scenario is to ask yourself: if it was a different player, would they cough it up more or less?
Brodie has been absolutely fantastic in these playoffs IMO. With no Giordano, the other teams are gearing in on him and he is more than handling it.
