Ya, I would have to agree that this likely doesn't have asbestos. We had to replace our flooring and had tiles from the 60s that were crumbling in places and likely had asbestos but some suggested they were just PVC tiles. Neighbors had similar tiles that PVC.

Anyway, a couple of tips to keep the dust down, mist the area with water or wipe it down with water before removing it. This should help keep the dust down.

Once all the work is complete, change your furnace filter.

For our protection we wore masks and clothes that we could just throw out after.

The best option, if you really think it has asbestos, just leave it. Don't take it up and put your flooring over top of it. If you don't bother it, it won't cause you and issues.
