I am a season ticket holder and I try to go to around 8 games per year. I have two children and my wife and I have busy lives. Between my hockey, my sons hockey, my wife's activities, vacation, etc, I have to sell some of my tickets (I am not wealthy enough to just give them away, and even if I was, I still think I would sell them).

Typically I just post them at work on our internal company classified page (that has a restriction of only sell at face value or below). Many of my tickets I sell below face value (still at a profit) and I sell some below my cost (New Jersey this year for example). In the past I would bundle a popular game with a not popular game to ensure I sold both and got fair value. I also donate a few games and from time to time will give away a set of tickets last minute to friends, family or coworkers (especially preseason games).

This year I started using Ticketsnow.com to sell Oiler, Canucks, Penguins tickets that all would gather a premium. It is easy to do, and allows me to sell my other tickets lower than I would normally want, or donate them. At the end of the year, I want to minimize my ticket cost so I can maintain the privilege of being a season ticket holder. The Flames are clearly endorsing (and profiting from) this as they have made the avenue of selling easy.

At the end of the day, I don't want to sell my tickets for a premium to people I know, work with, or to people on CP. I am okay with selling to the masses. But I also don't want to give away my tickets for less than market value. There is a guy I work with who regularly buys my tickets, and I am sure he is turning around and selling them.

.....

Also, the market seems to have dropped significantly for tonight's game - PL tickets are now being listed on Ticketsnow for $50 where they were $200+ before.
