When alternative are as easy to use and economical.

Running out of Fossil Fuels isn't really in the cards for us. The planet would go to complete S*** before that would happen. Extraction tech keeps getting better and we keep realizing there is way way more down there than we thought there was.

But being in my late 20's I truly believe there will be a time in my life in witch something other than oil will be the most economically viable option. Usually you have to go looking for oil and then move it. Most other options we are looking at, Sun/Wind mainly will come right you if you have the means of storing it.

I'm not one of those who thinks some switch will be flipped and over night we will be some hemp wearing, rabbit eating, wind powered society. But low maintenance and logistics costs will over take oil one day in the next 50 or so years.
