See the edit in my post above. I don't want to be seen as proclaiming Sterling a good person and defend his remarks. I don't know much about Sterling other than what's published on the Internet. I am concerned about media's increasing propensityy to label people bad without due process and scrutiny. Wikipedia mentioned some fairly influential individuals and intellectuals worried about the limits of media's intrusion into what people say privately and its ability to ruin lives.
